The Chicago Bulls organization recently wrapped up its annual holiday food drive, which it has hosted for over 25 years. The annual drive benefits the Greater Chicago Food Depository and provides meals to thousands of families in need each year.

During this year’s event, the Bulls teamed up with Vienna Beef and 34 Chicago Public Schools in collecting food and financial donations. From December 2-22, 2014, Bulls fans attending home games had the opportunity to make financial contributions to the drive at any of the United Center’s concession stands or restaurants. The contributions made on the last day of the drive were matched dollar for dollar by Vienna Beef.

For their part, the participating schools challenged each other to see which one could collect the most food. In total, the schools gathered 49,192 pounds of food, which is enough to provide nearly 41,000 meals to those served by the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
